First Day in Buenos Aires

I arrived in Buenos Aires around 6am. It was interesting taking the bus into the city and seeing the surrounding areas. The bus dropped me off at the closest stop which was two miles away from where I was staying. It was a thrilling walk and I got to my hostel in time for breakfast. I was a bit nervous going into the breakfast room. There was a table of three people around my age and it did not have an available space. There was also another table with an older man talking to a woman in Portuguese.  The owner of the hostel was cooking eggs and wanted to know if I wanted any eggs. I said yes. The people at my table were having a heated discussion and I just kept pouring cups of coffee hoping it would help.

When I went back to my room one of the girls that was sitting at the other breakfast table was in there. She introduced herself as Melina and was a surgeon from Brazil. She invited me to join the group that was planning on going out exploring the city in 30 minutes. I happily agreed and got ready.

     It turned out to be a six person group. There were three people from Brazil, one from Portugal, and the Netherlands. We walked around all the neighborhoods. Went to a few museums and monuments. Then decided to go to Boca.

    Boca is a really cool area where a lot of artist live. It's famous for it's colorfully painted houses and football stadium. We spent a couple of hours walking around and then decided to go back to our hostel and grab an early dinner close by and take the free tango lessons that were being offered 6 blocks away. 

    The tango lessons were in the basement of a store and the instructor did not speak English but it was a lot of fun. After the lessons we decided to check out the nightlife in Palermo. Thus concluding my first day in Buenos Aires.
